By Patrick McGilvray

SACRAMENTO (OBSNews.com) — Former governors Howard Dean and Sarah Palin will appear October 15, 2010 at the Sacramento Convention Center for the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce's Perspectives 2010.

“We are pleased once again to bring dynamic speakers whose current contribution to our nation’s political dialogue will captivate the Perspectives audience,” commented Matt Mahood, president & CEO of the Sac Metro Chamber.

Other speakers on the lineup will be announced soon.

Governor Dean was a six term governor of Vermont and is a former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, a 2008 candidate for president, and the founder of Democracy for America

Dean and former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin are well-known to be on opposite ends of the political spectrum and that is exactly what organizers are hoping to provide to their audience, namely differing viewpoints.

Over 3,000 of the region's business leaders are expected to attend what has become a destination public affairs forum and networking event.

“We have great pride in how we balance our speaker line-up,” said Mahood. “The goal of Perspectives is to offer just that—points-of-view on major themes echoing through the world’s headlines.”

Previous Perspectives guests include:

Karl Rove, Sen. Bob Dole, Sen. Tom Daschle, Sen. John Edwards, Secretary Madeleine Albright, Gen. Henry H. Shelton, Secretary William Bennett, Gov. Ann Richards, as well as other notables including U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft, President George H.W. Bush, Gen. Colin Powell, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Condoleezza Rice and Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

Tickets for the all-day event are $195 for Metro Chamber members and $275 for nonmembers and are available online with full speaker biographies at www.MetroChamber.org/perspectives or by calling 916-444-1919.
